PSEUDOGEOGRAPHY

The "PG"

A Comprehensive Pseudoatlas of
generally-geographic
Idiocies, Inanities, and Imbecilities.

Pseudodictionary - the inspiration for this page - I recommend for your amusement the pseudodictionary, wherein you will find far too many of my own inanities (noted on the sbiii, com Pseudodictionary page).

Let me add here that I am deeply indebted to my favo)u)rite "hardass grammar Nazi", H. D. Fowler, self-styled PD "principal editor, owner & partner", for his patience, fortitude, and endurance (even if he didn't use a trailing comma after "owner").

Pseudogeography Maps

[I shoulda put these maps in first!]   new.gif (19 Dec 2015)

Let's start with the down-under version of our world, the Aussie map:

AussieMap
[Credits on image]
Mind bending, eh?

Then, sticking to the (mostly) English-speaking world, our northern neighbor's view (as doctored by yours truly):

[Oops - can't find the map!  Hang in there.]

My favorite view of the universe is not-all-that-terribly-old, but it sure looks it:

FlamUniversep

It's Flammarion's 1886 engraving, colorized more recently.

Pseudogeography Entries

[In the daffynitions that follow, the term is followed by the description of the term and that by the example (" - e.g., ") (using the term submitted in the example given)  Also, more than a few will be PG inside jokes.]

We start ca. 09:30 ET on 02 May 2015, with my wife announcing, with an all-but-bare larder, that she was making herself a "Matza Pizza"!  Hard of hearing and not really paying much attention, I misheard this as "Matza Piccha" and - TA, RA! the Pseudogeography was born!

This, then is the first entry:

Matza Picchu - a famed mountaintop archaeological site in Peru - e.g., the Incas were devoted to good matzas and built a huge temple complex for such worship high atop Matza Picchu.   new.gif (02 Jun 2015)

[It is my understanding that "matza" was the Inca's form of unleaded bread.]

That led instantly to a second entry:

Wayna Picchu - neighboring peak overlooking Matza Picchu - e.g., macho actor John Wayne, on discovering Matza Picchu, set about building a summer home on the next peak, which he renamed Wayna Picchu.   new.gif (02 Jun 2015)

Macho Picchu - now, how could I ever have overlooked (I must have been Down in the Valley) Macho Picchu?  Another Peruvian peak; it was named by a fan of John Wayne.   new.gif (19 Dec 2015)

Patagonadia - southern tip of South America where unspeakable acts are committed - e.g., I really like being down here in Ushuaia but there's no way in hell you're gonna pata MY gonadia!   new.gif (02 Jun 2015)

[All of above just go to show what poor taste and lack of discrimination PG editor "Erle E. Waters" exhibits (it's so nice to have a sympatico companion on the journey)!]

The beat (in Boatswana) goes on:   ALL added.gif (19 Dec 2015)

Boatswana - formerly Botswana, before the country was flooded by rising sea levels (good thing there's no such thing as Global Warming!).  Before the flooding, they beat game for the Bwanas, for which game they should have been beaten (see "beet beat" in the PD).

Gonbwanaland - where the White Man still rules (so sad)!

Pangaia - the interdependent web of all existence, of which we are all a part.

Lawn Guylund - suboib of Manhattan, where there are more undocumented guys tending lawns than resident citizens.

Noo England - place devoid of "R"s - land of snoo (so what's snoo?).

Noo Joisey - keeps the North (Hudson) River from flooding Philadelphia and counterbalances Long Island about Manhattan so it doesn't tip over.

Noo Yawk - [prefix or suffix of Noo Yawk] - a state of mind or a city state - the Vampire State, home of the Eerie Canal and the Vampire State building, also of the Statue Delivery - separates the other U. States from Noo England.

Hollywould - auditiom to audition {I wrote this quite a while ago and no longer have the slightest clue as to what I had in mind - if you do, please let me know}.

This page is concerned with the Pseudogeography, only; please visit my Encyclpædic Pseudodictionary Page, et seq.; my LANGUAGE page; my DENGLISH - Neutered or Degenderized English page, my CULTURE page (so-called) for literature and such; and my fun page for humor (again, so-called).

Pseudodictionary - the inspiration for this page - I recommend for your amusement the pseudodictionary, wherein you will find far too many of my own inanities (noted on my own Pseudodictionary page).

Let me add here that I am deeply indebted to my favo)u)rite "hardass grammar Nazi", H. D. Fowler, self-styled "principal editor, owner & partner", for his patience, fortitude, and endurance (even if he didn't use a trailing comma after "owner").

And there's always my own Zictionary, a glossary of wordZ in Z-scale (1:220).
